CCM is a first-of-its-kind, life-changing treatment alternative to traditional device-based treatments like biventricular pacemaker-defibrillators and cardiac resynchronization therapy.
CCM is clinically shown to improve 6-minute hall walk distance, quality of life, and functional status in NYHA class III heart failure patients who are symptomatic despite guideline-directed medical therapy, don’t qualify for CRT, or have an LVEF of 25-45%. It is delivered via a small, implantable stimulation device, similar in size to a pacemaker. The implant procedure does not require open-heart surgery and patients are able to return home soon after the procedure.
